Reflecting on my childhood, I can’t help but smile when I think about the go-kart my brother and I had. It wasn’t one of those fancy, store-bought models; ours was a homemade creation, welded together with a singular purpose in mind: speed! What made our go-kart truly special was that it didn’t have a governor. A governor is a device that restricts how fast you can go, and without one, our little machine was free to unleash its full potential.
Having a go-kart without a governor meant we embraced the thrill of speed. It made us feel like cool kids, daring to push the limits and experience the rush that came with it. In a way, it symbolizes freedom—the freedom to explore, to take risks, and to chase after what we truly desire in life.
